January 10, 2011 For Christmas Eric and I received this bank from his Grandmother. It has a pretty cool story. Eric's grandfather was postman in Canton. The bank in the background is made from the door of one of the old post office boxes from when he worked at the post office. A craftsman in our area made these banks a few years back and Eric's grandmother got two of them. She gave us one for Christmas, but the gift wasn't just a bank... she had filled it with quarters. $160 worth of quarters to be exact. In additional to the quarters she had put several other interesting coins in the bank including two Peace Silver Dollars, two buffalo nickels, some Kennedy half dollars, Susan B. Anthony dollars, a steel penny from 1943 and a very interesting penny that has been stamped with the masonic symbol.
